2018 Chairs Report

2017 -18 was a long, cold, winter.  Thanks to continued low natural gas prices, this helped keep the cost of heating your home or shop down. The increase in your monthly gas bill is due to the increased provincial carbon levy that we must collect on behalf of the government. The good news is that natural gas prices look to remain stable for the next three years.  Supply for big industrial projects has slowed down and will remain that way until 2020 and perhaps even longer until we can get more direct lines across Alberta from British Columbia.

There will be more ongoing costs to your Co-op this year with the revamp of Occupational Health and Safety regulations handed down by the Province.

We are nearing completion of our building renovations and look forward to finishing this project in the very near future.

Tom Kee is our new Executive Director for the Federation.  He will be our guest speaker at the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, July 17.  Please plan to join us and bring any questions you may have for Tom.

As always, I would like to thank our staff for their continued excellent service in helping our Co-op run efficiently and smoothly. Thank you also to the Board of Directors for your ongoing commitment to the members of the Natural Gas Co-op 52 Ltd.
